PDMA kHUB
New kHUB Content:
  • Choosing the right innovation management platform is critical for companies that want to stay ahead of the curve and achieve their innovation goals. This kHUB Strategy webinar by Brian Utz of Sopheon, Lessons Learned from PDMA Corporate Innovator Award Winners, presents the key features to consider when selecting an innovation management platform that suits your organization's needs.  Whether you want to streamline your innovation processes, enhance collaboration, or manage innovation risk, making the right innovation investment is crucial for connecting strategy and execution, prioritizing and planning portfolios, allocating and managing resources, and making informed governance decisions.
  • A reminder that kHUB links to JPIM’s Academic articles! This allows you to access the abstracts and practitioner points on kHUB before delving into the full article in JPIM. We’ve started posting content from the September 2023 issue:
    • Could innovation management be on the brink of establishing itself as a formal, professional function akin to human resources or marketing? Two decades after a call for the professionalization of new product development (NPD), this article critically examines whether innovation management has met the criteria to be recognized as a distinct profession. The authors propose four tests as hallmarks of a profession and apply them to the emerging field of innovation management. As innovation roles transition from experience-based qualifications to a codified body of knowledge, marked by initiatives like the ISO 56002 Guide Standard, what impact does this professionalization have on both academic research and practical application in the field? Discover the insights and recommended actions for academics and practitioners, as well as the potential for a more influential role of innovation management in shaping organizational strategy. Authors Peter Robbins and Gina Colarelli O'Connor explore the journey and future opportunities for the innovation management profession in The professionalization of innovation management: Evolution and implications.
  • TED Talks! Most people are aware of the genre and have their favorites. The kHUB curators have been looking into the TED Talk archives to recommend some related to innovation. In this Viewpoint blog post by curator Carlos Rodriguez,  Creativity - TED Talks with Practitioner Insights, we share links to three talks highlighting the “imagination worker”: those who think creatively to envision a different future and work to make that vision a reality. These TED Talks challenge our curious minds to understand the most profound feelings and emotions embedded in the consumption experience. In this Viewpoint blog post by curator Rose Klimovich, Ted Talks on Motivating Teams, we share links to three talks highlighting ways to motivate project teams and employees.  Each includes a brief intro with practitioner points from the curator.
  • Note that we have added links to several podcasts and blogs the kHUB curators recommend to our “additional resources” tab in kHUB. Check out Steven Haines’ Business Leader Newsletter where he shares ideas and trends that shape business acumen, strategic thinking, and leadership excellence. And access the regular podcasts from Lenny’s Podcast, featuring interviews with world-class product leaders and growth experts to uncover concrete, actionable, and tactical advice to help you build, launch, and grow your own product.
