The GSIC is a competition organized by the Product Development and Management Association to showcase student entrepreneurs in their quest of putting theories and concepts into practice.
Student teams that develop original concepts for a product, service, software, or a combination of the three, submit details about their business model, solution concept, and unique value proposition. Students are welcome to expand on academic work for their theses or capstone projects as the basis of their entry.
Finalist teams may be paired with industry mentors through PDMA. Finalist teams are encouraged to present their concepts, prototypes and mockups at PDMA’s Annual Competitive Edge Conference. The presentation portion provides students the opportunity to demonstrate their product development skills to an audience of industry practitioners, service providers and academics in innovation, product management and product development.
Please visit the website PDMA Global Student Innovation Challenge for details on key dates, eligibility, rewards, and other pertinent information.

KHUB is PDMA’s Online Content Resource. The Curator team contacted speakers at the last Annual Conference and developed articles that we posted, along with the slides presented at the conference.
This month we’re highlighting five of those presentations.
PDMA’s local chapters continue to produce exceptional content. We’ve been posting the recordings on kHUB’s section entitled Local Chapter Content on Demand. You can access new offerings from St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, and The Carolinas.
kHUB is organized into seven sections following the PDMA Body of Knowledge framework. Content and resources are classified into one or more of the following sections: Strategy, Portfolio Management, Product Innovation Process, Product Design & Development Tools, Market Research in Product Innovation, Culture, Teams & Leadership, and Product Innovation Management - plus an additional section Innovators Respond to World Events-a section where we post content related to crises, world events, and social justice.
As the world's foremost professional association for product management, development, and innovation professionals: practitioners, academics, and service providers, our core value is career-advancing knowledge and resources, founded on sound academic research and proven practical application. kHUB facilitates the creation and exchange of product management, development and innovation knowledge and best practices, that provides the basis for individual professional development and organizational innovation, leading to a competitive edge. Announcing Innovate Carolina 2021
|
|
|
|
|
The Carolinas PDMA chapter is planning its 12th Annual Innovation Conference, a virtual event on April 22nd and April 23rd. This year’s theme: Capturing the silver lining – delivering opportunities from disruption
Clearly, COVID-19 has been a significant business disruption, however this conference is not focused on COVID-19, but on the idea that businesses must be more prepared to face recurring disruptions and learn to innovate during and after significant disruptions.
When we consider how many new businesses (and business models) were spawned from previous downturns (Airbnb and Uber are two examples from the last downturn), it's evident that disruptions offer an opportunity to innovate.
